In this course, we’ll focus on understanding and using the latest scientific knowledge about preventing health issues in groups of people. You’ll learn how to bring together information from different areas like disease patterns, statistics, and the environment to find solutions for tough or new healthcare problems. We’ll also look at the social factors that affect health when assessing risks, creating interventions, planning healthcare delivery, and evaluating outcomes. We’ll check out different models of providing healthcare for groups of people. Throughout the course, you’ll spend about 20 supervised hours practicing what you learn, and this time will specifically focus on population health. The course is called “DN713: Epidemiology and Social Determinants of Population Health.”
