NURS 6551 – Primary Care of Women
How does a nurse practitioner decide what’s most important during a short 15- to 30-minute appointment with a woman seeking primary care? In this course, students get chances to help and promote wellness in women by screening for common gynecological disorders. They learn to look at information and understand results to guide women in planning healthy lifestyles. Students also practice in a regular healthcare setting, gaining experience in diagnosing, treating, referring, or following up on care. The focus is on making sure patients get better outcomes. (Please note: This course involves at least 144 hours of practical training.)
