Instructions:
1. Choosing a Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG):
- Pick one guideline from the provided list.
- Make sure it relates to your specialty or an area you’re interested in.
2. Background and Development (Max 2 slides):
- Share basic info about the guideline: title, authors, publication details, and the organization that created it.
- Explain how the guideline was developed: how evidence was gathered and reviewed, who was involved (experts, stakeholders), and the process followed.
3. Scope and Target Population (1 slide):
- Describe what the guideline covers and who it’s meant for (patient population and clinical setting).
- Talk about how useful it is in different clinical situations or for different groups of patients.
4. Evidence Assessment and Grading (1 slide):
- Identify what system or tool the guideline uses to grade the strength of the evidence and recommendations.
5. Recommendations and Clinical Application (Max 2 slides):
- Summarize the main recommendations.
- Discuss how clear and practical the recommendations are for providers.
- Mention any challenges healthcare professionals might face when applying them, and how they affect decision-making.
6. Methodology and Biases (1 slide):
- Evaluate how thoroughly the guideline was developed.
- Point out any possible conflicts of interest or biases that could affect the recommendations.
7. Ethics and Patient-Centeredness (1 slide):
- Talk about any ethical concerns tied to the guideline’s recommendations.
- Consider whether the guideline includes patient preferences and values.
8. Impact on Practice and Research (1 slide):
- Discuss how the guideline might affect healthcare professionals and organizations.
- Identify any gaps in the evidence and suggest where more research is needed.
9. AGREE II Assessment:
- Give your overall evaluation of the guideline using the AGREE II tool, based on the areas above.
Formatting and Submission:
- Use clear headings and sections to organize your slides.
- Follow APA 7th edition for citations and references.
- Include a reference list at the end.
- Submit your PowerPoint presentation in the “Submit your CPG presentation here” Discussion Board.
- Add speaker notes for each slide.
- Your presentation should be short enough to present in under 15 minutes.
- Attach one completed AGREE II assessment form with your submission.
