DNP830 Global Population Health applies epidemiologic methods to explore global health issues and diseases affecting human populations. Students engage in collaborative efforts to develop innovative solutions to global healthcare challenges, critically analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each approach. The course covers a range of current global issues, including infectious diseases, bioterrorism, and the impacts of disasters and emergencies, with a focus on advocating for and being sensitive to vulnerable populations worldwide. Additionally, students explore the importance of cultural compassion and care for diverse at-risk populations within the healthcare field.
This course also requires the documentation of at least 80 hours of immersion toward the 1,000 hours needed for the DNP program.
